Reducing Waste

We give every eligible returned Origin mattress a second life through our partnership with The Salvation Army. Instead of ending up in landfill, gently used mattresses are refurbished and donated to families in need — helping reduce waste, extend product life, and make a positive difference in the community.

Restoring Forests, Reviving Biodiversity

The Black Summer bushfires burned more than 18 million hectares of Australia’s temperate forests and displaced or killed more than a billion animals. Through reforestation with One Tree Planted and Ecologi, we’re helping to rebuild habitats and revive biodiversity. While sustainability begins in our own backyard, we’re also contributing to worldwide efforts to regenerate ecosystems and combat climate change.

We Aim To Repurpose Unwanted Mattresses By Recycling Them.

Most online mattress brands offer a free-return-guarantee. However unlike other brands, we’ve developed a system to recycle returned mattresses by donating them to Australians in need, to avoid dumping in landfills.

Our estimate of ~670 tonnes COâ‚‚e avoided is based on 5,585 donated mattresses. Each mattress is assumed to displace the embodied emissions of producing a new one (~120 kg COâ‚‚e). Emissions factors are based on conservative industry benchmarks and internal donation records. This figure is intended as an illustrative indicator of impact, not a formal third-party audit.
