Origin donates $1.5m worth of mattresses to Sydney families in need

At Origin Australia, we believe in doing good for both people and planet. We support community organisations, reduce waste through circular giving, and partner with charities that create meaningful impact.

In November 2025, we donated 1,247 mattresses worth A$1.5 million to ReLove, a Sydney organisation helping women, children, and families rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness or domestic violence. Their work ensures families don’t have to sleep on the floor when starting over.

Creating Safe Homes and Fresh Starts

ReLove furnishes homes free of charge, allowing families to choose their own items and create a space that feels like home. They support 25 families each week and set up around 1,000 homes per year, offering comfort, stability, and a genuine fresh start.

Our mattresses help provide safe, clean beds, which are one of the most important essentials for families moving from crisis into a new home.

Doing Good for People and Planet

ReLove’s circular model has:

• diverted 2,500+ tonnes of furniture from landfill
• saved over $10 million worth of furniture
• furnished 2,000+ homes to date

By donating returned mattresses, we keep quality products in use and help reduce environmental impact while supporting families who need them.

Supporting Communities Nationwide

Beyond ReLove, we continue our long-standing partnership with The Salvation Army, donating mattresses that support families experiencing hardship across Australia.
